Salient Technical features:
The intent of the Renovation and Retrofitting of Existing ESPs is to reduce the particulate
emission level to ≤ 80 mg/Nm
3
from the existing emissions level.
Brief scope consists of the following while details are covered in specifications:
i. Bidder shall develop the renovation and modernization (R&M) proposal for
enhancing the dust collection efficiency of the U#4, 5 and 6 (RSTPS stage-II units)
to the specified levels based on refurbishing the existing ESPs and augmenting the
collection area. Necessary electrical, ash handling, C&I, structure/civil work etc shall
be included in the scope of work and services. Basic scoping for such R&M works
of ESP shall be either be by refurbishment and augmentation of existing ESPs
based on rigid discharge framework type design or by refurbishment and
augmentation of existing ESPs based on rigid discharge framework type design in
combination with moving electrode plate type design, along with certain mandatory
replacements and as per the detailed scope covered in technical specifications.
ii. Flue gas ducting system (including refurbishment of existing ducts) upstream and
downstream of the augmented/refurbished ESPs, within the terminal points of the
package, complete with flow distribution system, expansion joints, isolation/control
dampers, associated foundations and support structures etc.
iii. Complete replacement of ESP thermal insulation lagging, cladding and refractory
between APH outlet flange and to ID fan inlet of each unit.
iv. Complete Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Civil & Structural and Architectural works of
Fly Ash Handling Plant for the additional ESP ash hoppers under proposed ESP
R&M Package and as per scope in specifications.
v. Complete replacement of the existing electrical installations like ESP service
transformers, LTMSB, ACPs, TR sets, controllers, EPMS system, cables(HT&LT),
Hopper/ Insulator heaters, thermostats, Rapping motors, Ash level switches,
insulators and Opacity Monitors etc.
vi. Complete microprocessor based ESP management and control system including
the intermittent charging TR set controllers, rapping system controllers,
communication controllers etc.
vii. Modification/Extension/Shifting of existing control room or creation of additional
control room, as required, to accommodate the panels for the ESP panels etc. of
new and existing pass / fields. Air conditioning of existing and extended/new ESP
control room.
viii. All civil, structural and finishing works like foundation, structural works for new ESP
and Ash Handling system of all the three units including strengthening of the existing
ESP structures and existing foundations, as required.
ix. Relocation/re-routing of all such existing facilities (like cables/trays, fire protection
and detection system, air conditioning system, pipes, ducts, trestle, trenches, pits,
drains, walls etc.), structures, foundations, etc. as required to locate new equipment
/ augmentation / modifications under this package like fields/pass, ash handling
equipment, transformers, control panels etc.
x. Any item including material/components/equipment/systems required for facilities
needing relocation on account of renovation.
xi. Supply of Mandatory spares as detailed in technical specification.
xii. Services like dismantling / repair / overhaul / retrofitting of various other components
/ systems / sub-systems as may be required to meet the overall intent of renovation
& up gradation of ESP.
