Package Name: Evaporator Outlet temperature mapping package
Salient technical features: A consortium of NTPC, BHEL and IGCAR is executing
an programme on indigenous development Advanced Ultrasupercritical (AUSC)
Technology development aimed at developing technology for 700+°C coal fired
thermal power plants. The R&D phase consisting of several experimental/analytical
investigations including field test is presently underway. Post R&D phase it is proposed
to establish an 800 MW technology demonstration plant as phase-II.
As one of the field testing projects under the AUSC R&D, NTPC intends to map and
record the spatial temperature distribution at evaporator tube outlet ( at spiral wall
outlet as well as vertical wall outlet) of the one of the supercritical boiler at Mouda
STPP-Stage-II (2x660 MW) units under different operating conditions.
The project shall need to be executed on single point responsibility basis and the
scope of work for the package includes design, engineering, manufacturing, inspection
and testing, packing, forwarding to site, unloading, pre-assembly, assembly, erection,
supervision, pre-commissioning, trial operation and commissioning and performance
testing of system etc. and supply of mandatory spares as per the Technical
Specification.
The brief scope of work includes the following:
1. Installing clamp type thermocouples on the spiral wall outlet (complete mapping
of front wall and sidewalls) and vertical wall outlet (complete mapping of front
wall, one of the sidewalls and part mapping of the other side wall).
2. Independent Mini DCS in the existing central control room (CCR) to connect
thermocouple temperature signals using field bus protocol, for monitoring and
storage under various conditions.
3. Junction boxes, cables, cable trays, supports etc.
4. Signal hook up from existing DCS for parameters like steam, load coal etc.
5. Extension of existing platforms for location of junction panels, refurbishment of
damaged insulation.
