Sipat STPP, Stage-II (2x500 MW) – Brief scope of work & salient features

1.0 The brief scope of work for the subject package includes Design, Engineering, supply,

construction/erection/installation (including all associated mechanical, electrical, civil and C&I

works) of the following:

1.1 Reinforced concrete chimney shell (using slipform equipment) over a reinforced

concrete foundation including excavation in all types of soils including rocks,

dewatering and backfilling.

1.2 Internal structural steel platforms; Internal structural steel staircase and ladders; a

reinforced concrete roof slab supported over structural steel beams; a grade level

floor slab with metallic hardener finish; Roll-up door and personnel access doors

at the grade level; Roof drainage system; Painting of chimney shell surfaces and

painting/coating of all structural steel work and other components; wind tunnel

study.

1.3 Flue liner and duct along with liquid condensate collection system including wet

stack study.

1.4 Rack & pinion Elevator including mandatory spares.

1.5 Aviation obstruction lighting system including mandatory spares, lightning &

earthing protection system, Internal lighting, cables & wiring, distribution boards

and lighting panels, communication system and other electrical accessories.

2.0 Salient features:

a) Height of Chimney: 150 metres

b) Chimney configuration: 2 Nos. single flue chimneys as adopted for Lot-1A & 1B FGD

projects.

c) Diameter of flue liner: 8 metres

d) Diameter of chimney shell: 18m at top & 25m at bottom (Approx.)

e) Material of flue liner & duct: Ti/C-276 clad steel or Borosilicate block lining on mild steel as

adopted for Lot-1A & 1B FGD projects.
