One year contract for rewiding of LT motors at NTPC Solapur
SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES:
"Salient Technical Features of the equipment / systems / services covered in Tender reference
No.: Tender Reference No.: NTPC/Solapur STPP/9900170594 Dated.20.12.2018 are
mentioned below. These Salient Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate the
prospective bidders to prima-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not
in any way limit or alter the scope of work and technical features / specification of equipment /
systems / services covered in the Bidding Documents. Detailed provisions in regard of scope of
work and technical features / specification of equipment / systems / services, contained in the
Bidding Documents shall be final and binding."
BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK:
1. The agency will take the resistance and IR of motor before dismantling the motor.
2. Dismantle and clean the motor after receipt at the workshop of agency thoroughly and then
stripping off the damaged winding. Damaged winding shall be retained by the agency.
3. Clean the core, rotor, bearings etc as required.
4. Rewinding of motor will be done using same gauge of enameled copper wire as of original
winding. Wire shall be of class F insulation grade irrespective of the insulation grade of wire of
original winding. The winding wires shall be provided by the contractor.
5. Rewinding shall be done in the same fashion as original winding and winding resistance and
inductance should match with the original motor.
6. Insulating paper shall be of class F insulation grade and of same thickness as of original
motor.
7. Wedges shall be made of fiberglass or Bakelite of suitable thickness and width so that
winding is secured in the slots firmly.
8. Varnish the winding with suitable class insulation after cleaning properly with corresponding
suitable thinner.
9. Bake the varnished stator to ensure necessary class of insulation.
10. The agency will intimate to NTPC in case of a Bearing failure of the defective motor and will
replace the defective bearing with a new one after inspection by NTPC official regarding the
healthiness of old and new bearings. New Bearings will be supplied by NTPC for the equivalent
defective bearings. The old bearings will be returned to NTPC with proper indent marking.
13. In case of slip ring motors, stator and rotor are to be treated separately and as per the
requirement will be paid separately for stator and rotor as per the name plate details. Motor test
report with the details of jobs carried out, motor IR, winding resistance and no-load current has
to be given for each motor.
14. Party is responsible to arrange suitable vehicle for transportation of equipment. The
transportation of defective motor from plant to the agency workshop and again the handing over
the repaired motor back to plant from the agency workshop shall be in the scope of agency.
