Salient Technical Features of the Equipments/ Systems/ Services covered in NIT/IFB
No. 40087379 dated 02.05.2018 are mentioned below.
These Salient Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate the prospective
Bidders to prima-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not in
any way limit or alter the Scope of Work and Technical Features/ Specification of
Equipments/ Systems/ Services covered in the Bidding Documents. Detailed
provisions in regard of Scope of Work and Technical Features/ Specification of
Equipments/ Systems/ Services, contained in the Bidding Document shall be final
and binding.
SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES
The scope of work includes construction of balance civil works of starter ash dyke, covering
two storage lagoons which will be constructed with earth as main construction material. The
work also involves construction of well type water escape structures for discharging
decanted water into the existing over flow lagoon and excavation for discharge channel
works etc.
All construction works shall be carried out based on the drawings which are released by the
owner for construction.
The major work involved in this package will be as given below;
1. Earth work in Embankment Construction = 1,96,401 cum
(with earth excavated from inside lagoon, discharge channel etc)
2. Excavation = 2,33,868 cum
3. Providing sand filter = 27,693 cum
4. Providing Aggregate filter = 24,483 cum
5. Providing Rock toe, rip rap & nallah pitching = 41,289 cum
6. RR Masonry (1:6 cement mortar) = 13,000 cum
7. Concrete work (PCC& RCC) = 2,800 cum

8. Water Bound Macadam = 11,100 cum
9. Hume Pipe (100mm dia) = 800 m
The Work involved is mainly related, but not limited, to the following:
i. Preparation of work areas / clearing site / jungle clearance.
ii. Ground stripping or stripping of slopes of existing embankment
iii. Foundation preparation.
iv. Formation of the dyke section.
v. Formation of sand chimney, sand blanket and sand filter.
vi. Construction of dyke rock toe, rip rap and filters for forming toe drain.
vii. Dyke outer slope protection with turfing.
viii. Dyke inner slope protection with dry brick packing confined within brick
masonry panel walls.
ix. Construction of dyke slope drains.
x. Construction of RCC works for water escape structures.
xi. Laying and embedding RCC pipes.
xii. Road works.
xiii. Installation of instruments for monitoring purpose.
