SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES
Combustion modification is an in-furnace modification for reducing NOx
generation during combustion process by Air Staging in furnace. This
technique produces staged combustion by introducing a portion of the
secondary air above the firing zone, which in turn reduces the amount of
available oxygen in the main combustion zone where NOx is generated. In
this arrangement there is no change in total quantity of combustion air being
introduced to the furnace remains unchanged. Only the air distribution
between zones is changing.
Concentric firing system also shall be installed which shall form the first stage
of air staging. OFA shall result in second stage of air staging.
The air admitted thru the furnace above the combustion zone, results in third
stage firing which completes combustion and reduces the NOx formation at
high heat zone.
