External Coal Handling Plant Package for North Karanpura (3X660MW)

“Salient Technical Features of the equipment/systems/services covered in

Bidding Document No. CS-4410-155(R)-2 are mentioned below. These Salient

Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate the prospective bidders

to prima-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not in

any way limit or alter the scope of work and technical features/specification of

equipment/ systems/ services covered in the Bidding Documents. Detailed

provisions in regard of scope of work and technical features/specification of

equipment/systems/services, contained in the Bidding Document shall be final

and binding.”

SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES

The North Karanpura External CHP Package for Coal transportation from mine

to the Power plant of 3x660 MW capacity comprises Mechanical, Electrical, Civil,

Structural & Architectural works and essentially consists of Pipe Conveyors ,

Troughed conveyors and accessories, Conveyor galleries, Transfer points, Apron

Feeder, Truck tippler, Truck hopper ,Power cabling , Control cabling ,Control

room, MCC room, associated Dust suppression system ,Fire detection and

protection system, Metal detector, Magnetic separator, Inline magnetic

separator,Belt weigher,Ventilation system and other utilities, hoists, etc including

road and bridges along the conveyor route.

Coal received from mine is transported by troughed conveyor to a buffer silo and

is fed by apron feeders to the pipe conveyors for further transportation to surge

bins. The coal from surge bin is conveyed by a series of troughed conveyors to

the crusher house of internal coal handling plant. Three Truck hoppers located at

mine end and One Truck tippler along with hopper at the power plant are

provided to receive coal from other sources and convey via above conveyors to

the crusher house.
