Salient Technical Features of the works covered in IFB no. CC/C&M/C-507 dated 09/03/2018
are mentioned below. These Salient Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate
prospective bidders to prime-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not
in any way limit or alter the Scope of Work and Technical Features / Specification of Works
covered in the Bidding Documents. Detailed provisions in regard of Scope of Work and
Technical Features / Specification of Works, contained in the bidding document shall be final
and binding.
Introduction
NSPCL a joint venture between NTPC Ltd and SAIL supplies power to Bhilai Steel Plant of
Steel Authority of India Ltd. (BSP) from its coal based Power Plant II at Bhilai on captive basis.
NSPCL, BHILAI PP-II Captive power plant comprising of 3 units (2X30 MW + 1X14 MW BPTG)
were commissioned during the period 1982-85. The steaming capacity of each boiler along
with its auxiliaries is 150 TPH which correspond to 30 MW load.
BSP have its expansion plan in track hopper unloading area of PP-II. In view of BSP expansion,
a new coal transportation system has been envisaged for uninterrupted supply of coal from
Wagon Tippler no. 3 to PP-II through a series of conveyor. Since the capacity of wagon tippler-3
and existing coal crushing system of PP-II does not match, an intermediate storage area has
been identified jointly by NSPCL and BSP where uncrushed coal would be made available by
BSP from its existing junction house 1K (JH# 1K) through telescopic chute arrangement.
NSPCL will take over from the intermediate storage area to upstream conveyor of existing
crusher house (G1). A new conveyor (G1A) route along with ground hopper from intermediate
storage area of PP-II unit has been envisaged for uninterrupted supply of coal to PP-II from
Wagon Tippler#3 of BSP. Thus, existing crushers can be used for crushing.

BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK
The broad scope of work consists of the following:
(a) Supply of belt conveyor with closed gallery arrangement (approx. length 625m) having
rated capacity of 300 TPH.
(b) New transfer point at junction of new belt conveyor and existing belt conveyor.
(c) Dust suppression system.
(d) LTMCC, Power & Control cables from MCC to motors, LPBS, power DB for conveyor,
Illumination for conveyor & above ground earthing.
(e) Levelling and paving for intermediate storage, Tunnel, Ground Hopper and equipment
foundation.
(f) Associated electrical, instrumentation and civil work.
(g) PLC System.
