1. SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES
“Salient Technical Features of the equipment / systems / services covered in IFB No.
40076038 dated 24.05.2017 are mentioned below. These Salient Technical features are
mentioned only to facilitate the prospective bidders to prima-facie understand the
requirements under the tender and the bidder shall not in any way limit or alter the scope of
work and technical features/specification of equipment/system/services covered in the
Bidding Documents. Detailed provisions in regard of scope of work and technical
features/specification of equipment/systems /services, contained in the Bidding Documents
shall be final and binding”.
LOCATION & APPROACH
NTPC Limited intends to develop Permanent Township for Barh Super Thermal Power
Project-Stage-II (2x660MW). The project is located four kilometres east of the Barh sub-
division on National Highway-31 in Patna district. Nearest railway station is Barh (70 Km
from Patna) & Patna is the nearest airport, which is also approximately 70 Kms.
BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK :
The brief scope of work under this package shall include the following facilities (Low Rise
Residential & Non-Residential buildings, Bulk Services- Balance Works etc.).

CIVIL WORKS
The scope of work shall include all civil works in RCC framed structure, finishing, plumbing,
sanitary works etc.
INTERNAL ELECTRIFICATION WORK
The scope of work under this package shall include Design, Fabrication, Supply, Storage,
Erection, Testing and Commissioning of following items for complete internal electrification
of residential and non-residential buildings of the Township area covered under this
package.
a. LT Distribution Boards/ Meter Boards
b. Lighting Panels
c. Lighting / Power Distribution System for the building complete with lighting fixtures,
wires, conduits, switch / socket outlet boxes, switches, sockets, Receptacles and
accessories etc.
d. LT Power Cables / wires from MDB/ MB to Lighting panels
e. Earthing & Lightning Protection System
f. Telephone & T.V. outlets complete with Splitters & Tap-off units & boxes, conduits,
cables/wires, accessories etc.
g. Any other work required for complete electrification
EXTERNAL ELECTRIFICATION WORK
The scope of work under this package shall include Design, Manufacture, Testing, Supply,
Transportation, Insurance, Storage, Erection, Site Testing and Commissioning of following
equipment for External electrification / Power supply distribution of Township.
a. 11 KV Pole Arrangement
b. 11/ 0.433 KV Outdoor Transformers
c. LT Switchgear, Feeder Pillar
d. 11 KV Cables & Accessories
e. LT Power and Control Cables & Accessories
f. Street Lighting System
g. Cabling and Earthing System
h. Energy meters, Meter reading Instrument, PC etc.
EXTERNAL WATER SUPPLY & HORTICULTURE DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
The scope covers the following for the complete drinking water system, pumps,
Effluent treated water supply for Horticulture. However, it is to be read in conjunction
with Bill of Quantities and tender drawings.
(a) Design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, fabrication, testing, inspection, packaging,
transportation to site, storage, taking delivery of Employer supplied equipment (if any)
from site stores, in plant transportation, erection, cleaning, flushing, testing and
commissioning of all items i.e., piping, fittings, supports/ hangers, valves, specialities,
tanks, instruments, drains, vent including drain/ vent valves, air release valves, etc.
The items though not specifically mentioned or indicated here in but are needed to make
the system / equipment complete shall also be furnished and treated as if included in the
specification unless otherwise specifically excluded.
(b) Surface preparation, priming and painting of all non-insulated above ground piping as
per Specifications. However Galvanized pipes do not require any surface painting. As
such necessary colour banding on Galvanized pipes shall be done.
(c) Anti corrosive protection of all buried piping including galvanised steel piping.
(d) Bidder/Contractor shall supply all necessary drains and vents with drain & vent valves
as required for the safe and effective draining-venting of the piping systems of method of
cooling of rotating electrical machines.
(e) Minor dressing and grouting on foundations/walls/RCC Columns for equipment as
required.
