"Salient Technical Features of the equipment / systems / services covered in Bid No.: 40073979 dated: 04.05.2017 are mentioned below. These Salient Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate the prospective bidders to prima-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not in any way limit or alter the scope of work and technical features / specification of equipment / systems / services covered in the Bidding Documents. Detailed provisions in regard of scope of work and technical features / specification of equipment / systems / services, contained in the Bidding Documents shall be final and binding."
BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK:
The scope of work of this package shall include Supply, Transportation to site, Storage, Erection, Site Testing and Commissioning of equipment covered in the BOQ for Extension of 11kV Power Supply to Loco-shed and AWRS Tap-off through Over Head lines & Under Ground Cables.
The scope of service shall include the following:
Transportation including transit insurance to site, receipt at site, handling and storage of all materials supplied under this specification.
Taking over the materials/equipment’s from owners stores, in case same are to be supplied by the Owner and their handling and storage.
Maintaining all the equipment/ materials during storage and being responsible for the safety of the same, keeping proper insurance, until they are handed over to Owner.
Supply of all supporting structures, fittings, fixing materials and other installation accessories including earthing of equipments required to complete the installation of all the equipment.
Installation, testing and commissioning and obtaining owners written acceptance of Successful operation of all the equipment supplied under this specification.
Materials and components not specifically stated in this specification but which are necessary for satisfactory operation of the system shall be deemed to have been included in the scope of work of this specification.
The Contractor shall provide adequate and capable supervision for electrical installation work under this contract. The staff provided shall be well qualified and well versed with the work.
Estimating the requirement of all materials including cables, their support angles, brackets, clamps, etc., fittings, supports, materials for earthing, etc. for various work areas.
Preparing cable drum length cutting schedule, etc. with the approval of the EIC.
Preparation of following working drawings:-
Foundation drawings of all electrical equipment’s like Overhead line poles.
Cable route layout as per the site conditions.

A. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
11 KV OVERHEAD LINE
ACSR CONDUCTOR: Conductor for 11 KV line shall be made of galvanized steel core surrounded by stranded aluminium wires (ACSR) conforming to IS: 398.
Mid Span Joints: Supply of Mid span joints is for ACSR DOG conductor. This item shall conform to the requirements of IS: 2121 part 2, IS 2486.
INSULATORS: 11 Kv Pin/Disc Insulators sets (including Accessories) – 1 set means 3 No’s of Insulators (for 3 phases) including accessories.
STEEL TUBULAR POLES: The poles shall be ISI marked, swaged type conforming to IS: 2713 (PART-III) of following designation and lengths:
Designation 540 SP – 55 – 11 m. Length for normal route
Designation 540 SP – 69 – 13 m. Length for road crossings
This item includes supply of Steel tubular poles, pole fittings as mentioned below, channels, Brackets, Bracings, Bolts, nuts insulators, pole top cover, Base plate, Anti climbing device, number plate complete as required.
25x3 mm GI flat: Materials shall conform to the requirements of IS 2062, IS 2629.
Lighting arresters (per phase): Supply of 11 Kv Lighting arrester/ phase. Detailed specification is as per document 10.13 Lightning Arrester.
11 KV AIR BREAK SWITCHES: AB Switch shall complete with porcelain insulators, galvanized steel mounting base, Operating rod etc.
DROP OUT FUSES: Fuse unit shall be 3 phase, 12 KV, expulsion type suitable for Outdoor pole mounting conforming to IS : 9385.
Protective guard wire complete with galvanization: Protective guard wire complete with galvanized steel wire/cross arm channel Guarding shall consists of 6.09 mm dia galvanized steel wire as bearer wire and 3.5 mm dia galvanized steel wire as cross lacings.
Guarding cross arms shall be of 100 x 50 x 6 mm MS channel. The maximum crossings span shall be 15.0 m.
Anti- climbing device Supply & Erection: Materials shall conform to the latest applicable Indian standard- This quantity is over and above the anti- climbing devices supplied along with the steel tubular poles.
Installation: The Electrical installation shall generally by carried out as per Indian Electricity Rules and Acts and other applicable standards.
CABLE, 6.35KV/11KV, XLPE INSULATED, PVC SHEATHED, ALUMINIUM CONDUCTOR CABLE, STRIP ARMOURED, SIZE: 3C X 150 SQ. MM AS PER IS 7098 PT II.
6.35/11KV Earthed Grade Cables: These cables shall have stranded compacted circular aluminum conductors, conductor screen, XLPE insulated, insulation screened (metallic & nonmetallic), PVC inner sheathed, armored and FRLS PVC outer sheathed conforming to IS:7098 Part-II.
CABLE DRUMS: Cables shall be supplied in non-returnable wooden or steel drums of heavy construction. The surface of the drum and the outer most cable layer shall be covered with water proof paper. Both the ends of the cables shall be properly sealed with the PVC/rubber caps secured by U nails so as to eliminate ingress of water during transportation, storage and erection. For wooden drums, the wood used for construction of the drum shall be free from defects. Wood preservative anti-termite treatment shall be applied to the entire drum. Wooden drums shall comply with IS:10418.
CABLING & EARTHING: All standards, specifications and codes of practice referred to herein shall be the latest editions including all applicable official amendments and revisions as on date of opening of bid. In case of conflict between this specification and those (IS codes, standards, etc.) referred to herein, the former shall prevail. All work shall be carried out as per the following standards/ codes as applicable.
