NOTES:
1 Normalising rolling process shall be qualified by testing one sample for

2 Plates beyond 40mm shall be tested 100% by Ultrasonic Testing as per ASTM A578
4.0FINISH AND REPAIR
All plates shall have trimmed edges and shall be free from all mill scales, edge crack and other injurious defects. Repairs by fusion welding are prohibited. Mechanical removal of defects permitted subject to meeting minimum thickness and smooth surface.
5.0MARKING
Specification, Grade, Melt number, maker’s emblem/code to be stamped on each plate along rolling direction and bordered by white paint. PO No. "NTPC" & Weight to be painted on the product. However, for plates of 6mm, 8mm and 10mm thickness, marking shall be as per standard practice/industry practice.
6.0INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION
Manufacturers Test certificate (MTC) in English for each product as per IS 2062 including the following details shall accompany the product.
•Purchase Order No. (NTPC) & Test certificate No. size and
•Specification and Grade with applicable year of code, Heat Number.
•Steel making process, chemistry, carbon equivalent and heat treatment details.
•Mechanical test results, UT results with reference and acceptance standards.
•ASTM grain size number as mentioned in clause 3.0
7.0NTPC reserves the right to collect the samples from the supplied lot at site and send to third party for testing, if required, before releasing the payment.
