BRIEF SCOPE AND SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES FOR

FRP IDCT PACKAGE

 

The scope includes design, engineering, manufacture, inspection, testing at works, supply and installation at site, putting into initial operation and performance testing of induced draft Pultruded FRP Cooling Towers, along with associated civil works for SIMHADRI STPP Stage-I (2x500MW).


The brief scope and technical features of the package are as follows:

 

a)     Number of pultruded FRP IDCT 2 (two) numbers

 

b)    Design flow for each Cooling tower                                        60,000 m3/hr

 

c)     Range of Cooling                                                                   11 deg C.

 

d)    Design Cold Water temperature                                             32.5 deg C.

 

e)     Design inlet wet bulb temperature                                     28.6 deg C.

 

f)     Type of fill                                                                                As per Spec


g) Quality of Water Sea Water


h) Design ambient Relative Humidity 60%

 

i)      Complete air moving equipment consisting of fans, reduction gear unit, transmission equipment, lubricating system and electrical motors etc. for all cooling towers and equipment handling system.


j) RCC Cold Water Basin.

 

k)      Required Cooling Water Channel from each Cooling tower up to the terminal point defined in tender documents.

 

l)        Required Hot water pipes from the terminal point and associated branch isolation valves, cell isolation valves etc.

 

m)       Electrical switchgear cum Control Room building & associated transformer foundations, RCC apron around IDCTs, Cable trestle for cabling works, Cable trench & Cable Laying from MST switchgear building upto Railway gate

 

n)    Complete Instrumentation system


o) Site Leveling & jungle clearance including filling with borrow earth to attain FGL of RL(+)8.5m in CT area, Dismantling of existing boundary wall and construction of new boundary wall from existing stage I NDCT # 1 upto railway gate end


p) Dismantling of existing over head electric line towers from MST switchgear upto the terminal point near railway gate, dismantling of existing railway lines and area paving, construction of proposed new CW duct and CW channel with handrails, construction of culvert over new CW channel for access to IDCT area, connection of existing CW duct and CW channel with proposed new CW duct and CW channel, sheet piling adjacent to existing trestle and ash slurry pipes for construction of new cold water channel etc including associated electrical and C&I works.
