Salient Technical Features for Ash Dyke Package for Mouda STPP Stage-II (2X660MW)


Salient Technical Features of the equipment/systems/services covered in IFB No. 40051472 dated 09.02.2016 are mentioned below. These Salient Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate the prospective bidders to prima-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not in any way limit or alter the scope of work and technical features/specification of equipment/ systems/ services covered in the Bidding Documents. Detailed provisions in regard of scope of work and technical features/specification of equipment/systems/services, contained in the Bidding Document shall be final and binding.”


The scope of work includes the construction of starter ash dyke, covering two storage lagoons & one common over flow lagoon for bottom ash slurry disposal and one storage lagoon & sedimentation basin for fly ash disposal by HCSD system. Construction of two well type water escape structures & spillways is also envisaged for decanting water.


SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES:

The major work involved in this package will be as given below;

  1. Earth work in Embankment Construction = 11,50,000 cum ( with earth excavated from inside ash pond area))

2. Providing Sand filter = 1,80,000 cum

  1. Providing Aggregate filter = 32,000 cum

  2. Providing Rock toe & rip rap = 37,000 cum

  3. Reinforced concrete work = 10,000 cum

  4. Water Bound Macadam = 17,200 cum

  5. Fly ash bricks (Contractor’s scope) = 50,00,000 Nos.

  6. Bituminous Courses = 6,350 cum

  7. Non woven Geotextile = 1,00,000 Sqm


DETAILED SCOPE OF WORK.


The Work involved is mainly related, but not limited, to the following:

      1. Preparation of work areas / clearing site / jungle clearance.

      2. Ground stripping.

      3. Excavation.

      4. Foundation preparation.

      5. Formation of the dyke section with earth as per drawing.

      6. Formation of sand chimney, sand blanket and sand filter.

      7. Construction of dyke rock toe, rip rap and filters for forming toe drain.

      8. Dyke outer slope protection with turfing & Rip rap using Geotextile.

      9. Dyke inner slope protection with dry brick packing confined within

brick masonry panel walls.

      1. Construction of dyke slope drains, kerb wall & Steps on D/s Slopes.

      2. Construction of RCC works for water escape structures, Hume pipe cross drainage for bituminous inspection roads, RCC peripheral Drain & RCC Spillways.

      3. Laying and embedding RCC Hume pipe.

      4. Bituminous Inspection roads all along the periphery of starter ash dyke and over the top of dyke.

      5. Installation of instruments for monitoring purpose.

      6. Impervious lining with bentonite mixed soil
