Evacuation of Bottom Ash from Dhanras Ash Dyke & Transporting the same to Surakachhar U/G mine area for mine Stowing in environment friendly manner.

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE WORK:

NTPC Korba, is having its ash pond at village Dhanras for disposal of ash slurry. The ash after settling from the slurry needs to be evacuated for creation of space in the ash pond for further disposal of ash slurry.

For creation of space by evacuation of pond ash from NTPC ash dyke, SECL has agreed to take the ash for filling in Surakachhar underground mine. For this NTPC needs to evacuate the ash and transport the same to a designated place near Surakachhar underground mine. The approx. lead for transportation is 22 Km. The ash will be transported through road along the NTPC ash pipe line corridor. The ash is to be transported in environment friendly manner.

Approximately 560 cum of pond ash need to be transported daily with an annual average of 500 cum per day.

For execution of the above work, agency has to ensure deployment of HYWA in day time, load the ash into HYWA, transport the ash to dumping site and dump it in the identified area. Extreme care shall be taken for avoiding fugitive emission during transportation of ash.
