SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES

Talcher super Thermal power project is a Unit of NTPC, in Kaniha block under Talcher sub- division of Angul Dist of ORISSA.

Nearest Town : Talcher 26 KMs

Nearest Railway Station : Talcher 29 KMs

Nearest Airport : Bhubaneswar 180 KMs

STAGE - I - 2 Units each 500 MW - Total 1000 MW

STAGE- II - 4 Units each 500 MW - Total 2000 MW

TECHNICAL FEATURES:

1. Track overhauling work (Deep screening) will be carried out at identified locations as directed by EIC.

2. The agency has to arrange his own labours that are experienced enough in track overhauling work.

3. Through screening of track restores the resiliency and elasticity of the ballast bed, resulting in improved running quality of track. Such screening is called "Deep screening". Deep screening should be carried out in the following situations by providing full ballast cushion: -

· Prior to complete track renewal.

· Prior to through sleeper renewal.

· Where the caking of ballast has resulted in unsatisfactory riding.

4. The completion period will be 12 months
