SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES

Talcher super Thermal power project is a Unit of NTPC, in Kaniha block under Talcher sub- division of Angul Dist of ORISSA.

Nearest Town : Talcher 26 KMs

Nearest Railway Station : Talcher 29 KMs

Nearest Airport : Bhubaneswar 180 KMs

STAGE - I - 2 Units each 500 MW - Total 1000 MW

STAGE- II - 4 Units each 500 MW - Total 2000 MW

TECHNICAL FEATURES:

  1. Track Maintenance work of MGR/TSTPS comprises of both fish plated joints & SWR. The scope of the work is in between 15.00 KM to Bontol exchange yard in both load & empty linen. However, if situation demands the gang men can be diverted to other area (0 Km to 15 KM) also. The entire section of the track is divided into 5 sections to be maintained by 5 no of gangs having 20 no of man power (18 Gang men, 1 key man, and 1 mate) excluding supervisor. For better coordination of work the agency must have to deploy its own supervisors for each gang at his own cost who will supervise the work as directed by EIC.
  1. Regular track maintenance type of work will be there in all sections. In some area, more & more no of point- crossing will be there like MGR yard. In some area more cutting area will be there. In some area mud pumping area are also there. In all these gangs predominantly labors engaged will be SAP (Substantially affected people) of NTPC TSTPS Kaniha.
  1. The important works that will be executed at site will be Systematic through packing, Need based maintenance of track, Lubrication of fish plated rail joints, Overhauling of level crossings, Through packing of complete T-outs, Pre-monsoon works, Patrolling of track, Realignment of curve, Scattered renewal of rails – sleepers, Ultrasonic testing of rails etc.
  1. The completion period will be 12 months
