NTPC Talcher-Kaniha (TSTPS) plant is located in Kaniha block under Talcher sub-division of Angul district in the state of Orissa.

STAGE - I - 2 Units each 500 MW - Total 1000 MW

STAGE- II - 4 Units each 500 MW - Total 2000 MW

EQUIPMENTS INVOLVED

Stage-II Boiler:- 4 X 500 MW, Circulation type two pass boiler with Drum.

Maximum Height of Boiler:- 85 Mtr. Make:- BHEL,

Three banks of economizer , Two banks of LTSH are arranged horizontally and Divisional Panel, Platen Super heater, Reheater are arranged vertically.

In addition to main Boiler following equipments are included per unit:-

88 Nos of Wall Blower and 34 Nos of LRSB per boiler. Boiler is equipped with 16 nos Spring Loaded safety valves, 8 Electromatic Relief valves .All Boiler valves except the control valves/Block valves are of BHEL make and mostly are under size 150 Nb. Boiler Burner is having 40 coal nozzles & 20 Oil guns. Piping hangers are of constant load, variable load and rigid strut type hangers total approximately 300 nos at different locations and elevations.

JOBS IN BRIEF

Overhauling of boiler Pr.parts involves boiler water washing and erection of quick erect scaffolding inside furnace for complete inspection of the furnace, erection of temporary platforms in the boiler,over pendant coils at every two mtr of coils for accessing various coils in reheater, LTSH terminal tubes, screen tubes etc.Inspection and thickness survey of coil tubes and water wall, tube replacement by TIG welding and radiography, fin welding and shielding etc. Welding of tube joints with IBR approved and tested HP welder. Alignment of misaligned coils by jacking, pulling, welding of spacers and connectors etc.

Boiler drum and bottom ring header internal removal, inspection and boxing up. Seal plate and wire mesh inspection in bottom ash hopper and rectification of any defect found there in .It also involves servicing of conventional valves, safety valves, ERVs etc. Taking hot and cold reading of piping hangers and rectification of any defects found there in.

It also calls for Licensin with IBR inspector for repair order and licensing.

Safety aspects during execution will be sole responsibility of the contractor and it will be given prime importance. As multiple agency will be working during overhauling handling of materials and manpower movement has to be taken care off.

The agency should have special class repairer licence issued from CIB, Orissa throughout the period of contract
