BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK FOR ANNUAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR PC’s

AND PERIPHERALS AND FACILITY MANAGEMENT

1. INTRODUCTION

The purpose of awarding the contract is to have a trouble –free operations of all IT equipment and network with the help of outside agency specialized in the field of computer hardware maintenance at NCR-HQ, Sector-24, Noida, UP (a unit of M/s NTPC Ltd, a Govt. of India Undertaking)

2. SCOPE OF WORK

The types of jobs to be performed by the contractor under this contract will be

a)Responding to the breakdown calls on any equipment under the contract and repair/replace any defective equipment/sub-assembly /assembly/card required for continuous smooth working of the equipment as per the details mentioned in Annexure-IIA.

b)Facility management of all other equipments by resident engineer not covered in Annexure-IIB.

3. RESIDENT ENGINEERS

The party hereinafter called the contractor shall post two resident engineers/certified technicians (preferably one each for the hardware and software)for the purpose of the execution of the contract.

The resident engineer shall have minimum Diploma holder in Engineering/certificate course in computer system and networking, must be capable to take care of services and related activities for about 150 nodes.

The persons deployed should be capable of performing all the jobs assigned to them as per the requirements of this contract and also as per the detailed scope of work given in Annexure IIA and IIB, to the full satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge.

Suitability of the engineers deployed at site shall be determined by engineer-incharge. In case any of the person(S) deployed is/are not found suitable for the job at any time during the currency of the contract, he shall be replaced by a suitable person by the contactor to the satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge.

4. WORIKING HOURS FOR THE RESIDENT ENGINEER

IT Systems operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The resident engineers/technician will observe the same working hours and holidays as those of NTPC. The normal working days would be from Monday to Friday with timings from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM with lunch break from 1:00 PM to 1:30 pm. Under emergency, however, the resident engineer(s) may have to attend a call on Saturday, Sunday, holiday or after office hours also if any critical equipment goes down. Nothing extra shall be paid towards the same to the contractor. The engineer/technicians posted/depute shall work under the overall guidance and instructions of the Engineer-in-charge and his/her representative.
