SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE SERVICES

Sub: Contract for maintenance of coal piping & maintenance of ash brick plant.

PLANT OVERVIEW:

NTPC Talcher Kaniha (TSTPS) plant is located in Kaniha Block under Talcher sub-division of Angul district, in the state of Orissa.

Nearest Railway Station : Talcher 29 Kms.

Nearest Airport : Bhubaneswar 180 Kms.

INSTALLED CAPACITY

STAGE-I - 2 UNITS EACH 500MW- TOTAL -1000MW

STAGE-II- 4 UNITS EACH 500 MW – TOTAL -2000 MW

There are six units of 500 MW capacity each in NTPC, Talcher Kaniha. The two units of Stage-I are provided with ball & tube mills BBD-4772 of M/s Alstom make and the four units of Stage-II are provided with Bowl Mills XRP- 1003 of M/s BHEL make. For feeding coal to the mills, the raw coal feeders of Stage-I are volumetric drag link chain type and the raw coal feeders of Stage-II are Gravimetric Endless belt feeder type. Pulverised fuel pipes, bends, sleeves discharge pulverised fuel to the Boilers.

Presently, there are 5 nos Ash Brick Machines for production of fly Ash based bricks in the power plant campus. Two more machines are planned to be installed by 2012-13.

This contract envisages regular maintenance works of pulverized fuel piping, bends, sleeves, Raw Coal Bunkers, Fabrication of Emergent and contingent nature of spares, Reclamation of old spares and regular maintenance of Ash Brick plants as envisaged. The works are mentioned in the scope of work and the detailed know- how and required works have been indicated in the detailed scope of work as attached.
