NTPC Talcher-Kaniha (TSTPS) plant is located in Kaniha block under Talcher sub-division of Angul district in the state of Orissa.

This contract covers the equipments of PT Plant, DM Plant, Chlorination plants, Effluent treatment Plant, Compressed air system, Diesel engines of D. G Sets & F.W. Pumps, Hydrogen plant and Fire protection system including valves & piping (excluding Fire water pump & CHP area fire protection system) of St-I & II.
Technical detail of the systems / equipments covered in the contract are as under.
Water Treatment Plant (W.T.P.)
WTP consists of Pre-treatment Plant (PTP) and Demineralised water plant (DM Plant). PT plant has the alum, lime, chlorine and polyaluminium chloride (PAC) handling, solution preparing and dosing equipment. There are mainly Electric hoists, agitators with gear boxes, pumps, valves, clarifiers and piping network.
DM Plant has ion exchange pressure vessels, acid & alkali storage and dosing equipment, degassers, DM water pumps, various types of valves and M.S. Rubber-lined piping network.
