Salient Technical Features of the Equipments/ Systems/ Services covered in NIT/IFB No. 40026972 dated 18.09.2014 are mentioned below.

These Salient Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate the prospective Bidders to prima-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not in any way limit or alter the Scope of Work and Technical Features/ Specification of Equipments/ Systems/ Services covered in the Bidding Documents. Detailed provisions in regard of Scope of Work and Technical Features/ Specification of Equipments/ Systems/ Services, contained in the Bidding Document shall be final and binding.

SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES

1.0BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM

It is proposed to provide Screw chilling machines to meet the air conditioning requirement of all the air conditioned areas of main plant. Air-conditioning requirement of ESP Control Rooms and Water System Control Room would be met with air-cooled condensing machines. Other DCS/PLC based control rooms of auxiliary buildings would be air- conditioned using split or cassette air conditioners. Details of major areas to be air conditioned and the equipments proposed to be provided are elaborated in the following para.

1.1A/C Plant for Main Plant

1.1.1One Centralized Chilled Water Plant has been envisaged for:

(a)Control Rooms (CRs), Control Equipment Rooms (CERs).

(b)UPS, Battery Charger Room.

(c)SWAS Room.

1.1.2The A/C System would comprise of:

(i)3 x 185 TR capacity Screw Compressor type Chilling Machine.

(ii)Three (3) Nos. of Chilled Water Pumps.

(iii)One (1) No. of Condenser Water Pump.

(iv)One (1) No. of Cooling Tower.

(v)Eight (8) Nos. of Variable Frequency Driven (VFD) Air Handling Units (AHUs).

(vi)Interconnecting Piping, Duct Work, Insulation, Cabling, DCS based Control Panel, Instrumentation, etc.

1.2A/C Plant for ESP Control Rooms

1.2.1The A/C System would comprise of:

(i)4 x 45 TR capacity Air-Cooled type Condensing Machine for ESP Control Rooms.

(ii)Four (4) Nos. of Variable Frequency Driven (VFD) Air Handling Units (AHUs).

(iii)Interconnecting Piping, Duct Work, Insulation, Cabling, DCS based Control Panel, Instrumentation, etc.

1.3A/C Plant for Water System Control Building

1.3.1The A/C System would comprise of:

(i)2 x 25 TR capacity Air-Cooled type Condensing Machine.

(ii)Two (2) Nos. of Variable Frequency Driven (VFD) Air Handling Units (AHUs).

(iii)Interconnecting Piping, Duct Work, Insulation, Cabling, DCS based Control Panel, Instrumentation, etc.

2.0BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF VENTILATION SYSTEM

2.1Main Power House

Twenty (20) Nos. of Modular type Air Washer Units (AWU) each of capacity 1,00,000 m3/hr and Two (2) Nos. of Air Washer Units (AWU-Modular Type) each of capacity 50,000 m3/hr along with DIDW Centrifugal Fan & Motor, Pump with Motor, Instruments, Piping and other accessories shall be provided. These Air Washers shall be placed at various floors of TG Building and shall supply cooled air to TG Building by means of GSS/AL Ducting, Grills, Diffusers and Dampers, etc. Roof Extractors (RE) Fans would be provided at roof of TG Hall to exhaust hot air.

2.2ESP Control Room

To cater to the ventilation requirements of non-air conditioned areas (Switchgear Room, Cable Galley, etc.), two (2) Nos. of Unitary Air Filtration (UAF-Modular Type ) unit (one for each unit) of capacity 75,000 Cu.m/Hr would be provided along with DIDW Centrifugal Fan & Motor, Pump with Motor, Instruments, Piping and other accessories. Cooled air shall be supplied to various non-A/C areas by means of GSS/AI Ducting, Grills/Diffusers.

2.3Supply Air Fans/Exhaust Air Fans/ Roof Extractor Fans with drive motors shall be provided for Pump Houses, MCC Rooms, Battery Rooms, Cable Galleries, Auxiliary Buildings, Toilets, etc.

2.4Ducts supplying air to Switchgear Rooms and Cable Spreader/ Vault Rooms in Main Power House and ESP Building shall be provided with motor operated fire dampers. These dampers shall close in case of fire on receiving signals from the Fire Detection and Protection System.
