'MAKE-UP WATER PIPES' PACKAGE

DARLIPALI SUPER THERMAL POWER PROJECT, STAGE-I (2X800 MW)

BIDDING DOCUMENT NO. : CS-9549-132D-2

Salient Technical Features of the Equipments/ Systems/ Services covered in NIT/IFB No. CS-9549-132D-2 dated 07.06.2014 are mentioned below.

These Salient Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate the prospective Bidders to prima-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not in any way limit or alter the Scope of Work and Technical Features/ Specification of Equipments/ Systems/ Services covered in the Bidding Documents. Detailed provisions in regard of Scope of Work and Technical Features/ Specification of Equipments/ Systems/ Services, contained in the Bidding Document shall be final and binding.

SALIENT TECHNICAL FEATURES

The source of water for the Project is Hirakud Reservoir at a distance of about 39 Kms from the project site. Make-up water pumps in make-up water pump house near Hirakud reservoir will pump water to raw water reservoir (Lagoon-1 and Lagoon-2) located inside the plant boundary. Make-up water shall flow through two number cross country pipes (GRP pipes or DI pipes) up to raw water reservoir located within the main plant boundary. 

1)            Two options for Make-up Water Pipes have been specified in Technical Specifications. Bidder has to choose only one of the options as specified below. Scope of each option includes supply, erection and all associated civil works for Make-up water piping, as defined in bidding documents.

OPTION I:

a)        Two (2) parallel Cross Country Make-up Water Main Header / Rising Main of approx. 23000 running Meter each of size 900 mm DN GRP Pipes, Pressure class PN 15 and Stiffness class 248 KPa.

b)        Two (2) parallel Cross Country Make-up Water Main Header / Rising Main of approx. 18000 Running Meter each of size 900 mm DN, K9 class (Socket and Spigot type DI pipes), Standard fittings & specials of K12 class.

c)        Required length of Polyethylene sleeves for buried pipelines (as applicable).

d)        2 years Annual Maintenance Contract.

OR

OPTION II:

a)        Two (2) parallel Cross Country Make-up Water Main Header / Rising Main of approx. 41000 Running Meter each of size 900 mm DN, K9 class (Socket and Spigot type DI pipes).

b)        Standard fittings & specials of K12 class.

c)        Required length of Polyethylene sleeves for buried pipelines.

d)        2 years Annual Maintenance Contract

In addition to above, following shall also be provided:

2)            Eight Two (82) numbers of 200 NB Air release valves (PN16) along with stubs, DI Stub pipes with polyethylene sleeves and isolation valves along the complete Make-up Water pipeline.

3)            Four (4) numbers of 900 NB, PN 16 rating manual operated Butterfly valves.

4)            Carrying out Hydraulic Transient / Surge Analysis studies.
