Salient Technical Features

Salient technical features of the scope covered in the IFB no. 40022845 is mentioned below. These Salient Technical Features are mentioned only to facilitate the prospective bidder to prima-facie understand the requirements under the tender and shall not in any way limit or alter the scope of work and technical features/specification of equipment/system/services covered in the bidding documents. Detailed provisions in regard of scope of work and technical features/specification of equipment/system/services covered in the bidding documents shall be final and binding.

1.NTPC Ltd. has a total gas based capacity of 3605 MW. It has CCGT power plants at Anta (Rajasthan), Auraiya (UP), Dadri (UP), Faridabad (Haryana), Kawas (Gujarat) and Gandhar (Gujarat). All these power plants are connected to GAIL’s HVJ pipeline network. NTPC Kawas and Gandhar power plants are also connected to the Gujarat State Petronet Limited’s pipeline network. The plants have been allocated domestic gas by Govt. of India. The domestic gas supplies being insufficient to meet the full requirement of its gas based stations; NTPC procures RLNG (Long term + Spot) to meet the balance gas requirement.

2.NTPC intends to do enlistment of domestic suppliers for inviting tenders for supply of Spot RLNG. After enlistment, the tenders for procurement of RLNG shall be invited from the enlisted suppliers usually on monthly basis for meeting the RLNG requirement of around 7-8 MMSCMD. The RLNG supplies shall be on RE (Reasonable Endeavour) basis by the suppliers, i.e. without Take-or-Pay or Supply-or-Pay obligations. The supplier shall supply the RLNG on delivered basis, i.e. the RLNG seller shall make arrangement for re-gasification and transportation of RLNG up to the station boundary.
