EQUIPMENTS INVOLVED IN THE CONTRACT

All the air preheaters in Two units of Stage-II, BHEL boiler are to be overhauled. Each unit consists of two primary and two secondary air preheaters each.

LJUNGSTROM AIR PREHEATER is a device designed to transfer the heat flow from gas to air through air preheater. It consists of a moving part which is composed of a cylindrical Rotor with vertical modules are attached. 3 layers of Baskets containing the heating elements are placed in each module.

HEATING ELEMENTS: NO OF SECTORS : 12, EACH SECTOR 8 BASKETS :HOT END

8 BASKETS INTERMEDIATE END, 10 NOS. IN COLD END. TOTAL NO OF BASKETS: 312.

Rotor is driven by electric motor with gear box, Standby electric motor and air motors are provided.

SECONDARY AIR PREHEATER: TYPE: 30 VIM 2000, MAKE : BHEL RANIPET,

7 BASKETS INTERMEDIATE END, 8 NOS. IN COLD END. TOTAL NO OF BASKETS: 528.

JOBS IN BRIEF:

In general the contract consists of Removal and repair of Hot, Intermediate, Cold end baskets. Putting back the baskets after HP jet cleaning. HP jet cleaning to be done by other agency as employed by NTPC.

Creating complete access to top and bottom of APH by erecting the scaffolding and thorough inspection of all areas. Servicing / replacement of Guide / Support bearings, Servicing of main Gear box, Soot blower gear box, Lub oil system. Repairing of center section and APH connecting ducts.

Repair of Sector plates, guide bearing sealing system, replacement of radial, axial, circumferential seals, seal setting etc.
