BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK FOR FUEL OIL PORTION

The steam generator units under stage-I shall have facility to firing LDO only. Hence Fuel Oil unloading and storage system shall be designed to handle light diesel oil (LDO). Light diesel oil (LDO) shall be used for initial startup, low load (up to 30% BMCR capacity) operation and as secondary fuel for pulverized coal flame stabilization at the start-ups/ low load operations of the steam generator while firing coal.

It is proposed to transport light diesel oil (LDO) to the power plant either by railway wagons or by road tankers. The receiving yard shall be designed to unload one (1) full rake at a time. The oil from railway wagons shall be unloaded to unloading header by gravity which shall then be pumped to storage tanks through unloading pumps. In case of road tanker unloading, the oil shall be unloaded from road tankers by gravity into the unloading header. From there it will be transferred to oil storage tanks through positive displacement pumps.  Provision shall be kept to unload ten (10) nos. road tankers at a time for light diesel oil (LDO).

Salient features of FO unloading & storage system :

a) Two (2) numbers storage tank each of capacity 2500 m3 for storage of LDO. The tanks shall be located in the same installation.

b) One (1) number day oil tanks for auxiliary boiler of capacity 100 m3 for storage of LDO. The tank shall be located in the vicinity of the auxiliary boiler.
