Supply & Installation of additional prefab toilets in schools under Swachh Bharat - Swacch Vidyalaya Abhiyan
Information for Agencies
NTPC, a Maharatna Company and largest power producer in the country, as a part of Swacch Bharat- Swachh Vidhyalaya Abhiyaan is constructing about 30,000 toilets in schools allocated to NTPC by MoHRD, under CSR initiatives.
To meet urgent requirement in this regard, Expression of Interest has been invited from parties who have the requisite capacity and are willing to supply and installing Pre-fabricated toilets on urgent basis.
The requirement is of about 3500 prefab toilets to be installed by 15th July 2015, in various districts of states viz. Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Haryana etc. Tentative districts in these states are as per the attached list.
The Pre-fabricated toilets of PUF panel type with stainless steel pan, having 2 WC Toilets and a water storage PVC tank. The specification & drawing for the prefab toilets is attached for reference.
Requirement in a particular district / block could range from 10 to 200 nos. Major requirement would be in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh.
Number of toilets to be supplied and installed by an agency would be decided based on their capacity and capability. Agencies may propose the toilets that can be supplied and installed by them (considering their present commitment) by 15th July’ 2015.
Agencies to bring in their credentials regarding their:
o Past experience in manufacture and supply of pre-fab toilets of the specified design.
o Financial capabilities, turn over in last 3 years, PAN registration and other registration certificates.
o Manufacturing capacity
o Works address and their preferred states where they would like to supply/ install toilets.

Supply and Installation of Pre-fab Toilet Blocks of approximate 2650x 2015x 2550/2390 mm size across India, walls with 50 mm thick PUF (polyurethane foam) sandwich panels made out from 0.5 / 0.6mm thick GI precoated sheet on both side of PU Foam, roof with 0.5/ 0.6 mm thick precoated GI sheet, with 300 mm projection in front & back, flooring of Toilets (900mm x 1200 mm Size) with 0.95 mm thick SS-304 grade sheet/
Turf with built-in SS WC (02 no) over 20 mm thick High density Cement Bonded Particle
Board and 1.45 mm th. Aluminium Chequered Plate in water tank area over 20 mm thick high density cement bonded particle board.
Toilet block shall be supported with MS structure consisting of MS angle, tube, flat, joint sections etc. as per drawing. Toilet floor shall be kept 300 mm above from NGL. 1 no
200 litre capacity rectangular PVC Water Tank shall be provided over 20 mm thick locally available stone slab placed over MS stand 200mm above the floor with approved locking arrangement. 1400 mm internal dia & 1400 mm deep 75 mm thick RCC Collar Leach Pit with 50 mm thick Precast RCC Cover; 0.8 mm thick M S sheet Doors with louvers, angle and gusset plates; 0.8 mm thick MS Sheet Incinerator (450 x 300 mm size) connected with 110 mm dia PVC Bend (Incinerator box is Only for Girls Toilet); 2 no PTMT tap15mm, 1 no Stop Cock 20mm dia with associated PTMT piping; 2 Nos 100 mm dia PVC P-trap with110 mm dia UPVC (Type B) connecting pipes to leach pit ; 4no anodized (AC-15) Aluminium ventilators with louvers shall be provided. Base frame shall be grouted in 300x300x300 mm size pit with PCC 1:3:6. NTPC & Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Logo (01 No) shall be painted/ engraved over the wall.
The Toilet block shall be made complete as per detailed Drawings, Technical Specifications, Special Conditions of contract and instructions of Engineer-in-Charge.
The item not specifically indicated above but required to complete/ to make operational the toilet block, shall also be executed by the bidder without any extra cost implication.

1.0General: The Toilet Block shall be made of PUF (Polyurethane foam) sandwich panels supported over steel structure. The floor shall be finished suitably with SS sheet/ Aluminium Chequered Plate over high density Cement Bonded Particle Board.
2.0Scope of work: The scope of work includes the Supply, Installation and handing over of pre-fab Toilet Blocks Across India as per BOQ, Tender Drawings and Technical Specifications at site consisting of PUF panel walls, SS sheet/ Aluminium Chequered plate flooring over Cement Bonded Particle Board, Built-in SS WC, Doors, Aluminium Ventilators, Water storage tank, roofing, CPVC pipe, PTMT fittings, Leach pit and base structure complete as per the detailed plan shown in Tender drawings and technical specifications.
All works shall be performed in accordance with tender drawings, technical specifications, schedule of items, other tender documents, and directions of the Engineer-in-charge.
3.0Size: - External – 2.65 m x 2.015 m x 2.55/ 2.39 m (Length x Breadth x Height). The agency has to supply and install the Toilet Block in accordance with the drawings attached herewith.
4.0Base Frame: - The Toilet Block shall be mounted on a base frame arrangement made out of built-up sections consisting with minimum ISA 75x50x5 mm and welded with 50x5 mm flat and rectangular hollow tubes of minimum 50x25x1.5 mm size placed at +300 mm above Natural Ground Level. Base frame shall be mounted on minimum 06 no ISA 75x50x5 mm pedestal with welded base plate which shall be grouted in Soil below ground with minimum 300x300x300 mm PCC 1:3:6. Minimum 06 no Columns of 50x50x1.5 mm size and 03 no columns of 50x25x1.5 mm shall be welded between the base frame and roof frame. All structural steel members shall conform to IS: 2062 grade A and factor of safety as per IS 800.
5.0Floor System: - The under frame of floor shall be made as per General arrangement drawing. The Toilet Block floor to be of minimum of 300 mm above ground level and is covered with minimum 20 mm thick high density (minimum density 1250 Kg/Cum) Cement Bonded Particle Board conforming to IS: 14276-1995 including cutting, fixing and making holes for WC etc. and applying two or more coats of black anti-corrosive bitumastic paint of approved brand and manufacturer on bottom / exposed surfaces, with necessary fixing arrangement and screws/ nut and bolts etc. complete. Floor shall be finished with minimum 1.45 mm thick machine moulded aluminium chequered plate of approved pattern & design, made out of machine cut aluminium sheet (anodised transparent or dyed to required shade according to IS: 1868, Minimum anodic coating of grade AC 15) in water tank area and Stainless Steel AISI 304 grade in minimum 0.95 mm thickness of Turf length 1200 mm long 900 mm wide and depth in front 95 mm and chute size 180 mm with built-in SS WC in both WC area to be fixed over cement bonded particle board under floor of Toilets, the fixing on plate in one row on one side of joint only shall be done with stainless steel screws / nut bolts of appropriate size, including providing aluminium washers 2 mm
thick & 15 mm dia , at a staggered pitch of 500mm centre to centre including drilling holes in the receiving surface and providing expandable plastic sleeves in holes etc. SS sheet & Aluminium Chequered plate floors shall be provided with minimum 75 mm high skirting. The gap between SS sheet & Al. Chequered plate and Cement bonded particle board shall be supported / filled with expandable PU foam/ Silicon sealant. All the works shall be completed as per requirements, drawings & specifications and direction of Engineer-in- charge.

6.0Walls: - Walls of Toilet Block shall be Polyurethane Insulated PUF Panels in walls made of minimum 50mm thick sandwich panels made out from 0.5 / 0.6mm thick GI precoated sheet on both side of PU Foam. PUF panels shall be jointed with CAM Lock and properly sealed with the help of expanding PU foam. PU foam must be CFC free, self extinguishing, fire retardant type density 40 kg. per Cum (+/- 2 kg.), Thermal conductivity at 10 Deg. C; 0.02W/M. Deg K. All gaps, ends & corners should be covered by 0.5/0.6 mm thick precoated flashings (200mm x 200mm from outside and 100mm x 100mm from inside) so that PUF or joint etc. are not visible from inside or outside. The puff panel shall be fixed with the frame/structure with the help of SS screws, nut bolts or any other approved fixing arrangement, complete in all respect as per drawing, design and direction of Engineer-in- Charge.
7.0Roof: Roof shall be with precoated galvanised iron profile sheets (size, shape and pitch of corrugation as approved by Engineer-in-charge) 0.50 mm (+ 0.05 %) total coated thickness with zinc coating 120 grams per sqm as per IS: 277, in 240 mpa steel grade, 5-7 microns epoxy primer on both side of the sheet and polyester top coat 15-18 microns. Sheet should have protective guard film of 25 microns minimum to avoid scratches during transportation and should be supplied in single length upto 12 metre or as desired by Engineer-in- charge. The sheet shall be fixed using self drilling /self tapping screws of size (5.5x 55 mm) with EPDM seal, complete upto any pitch in horizontal/ vertical or curved surfaces, over the support structure frame made with MS hollow tube of minimum 50 x25 x1.5 mm size at roof level including cutting to size and shape wherever required and two or more coats of Synthetic Enamel Paint over One coat of approved steel primer. Extra M S tube support at roof level if required shall also be provided under overlapping line.
8.0Doors: 3 nos of Doors (750x1875 mm size) shall be provided for entry and W Cs. The doors of the toilet block shall be of 0.8 mm thick MS sheet with 25x25x3 mm MS angle frame. At top portion of the doors 300 mm high Louvers shall be provided with 30x2 mm thick MS Flat as per drawing. 2 no. M S handle, Aldrop and tower bolt shall be provided on MS doors. Cross bracing shall be provided with 20x3 mm thick MS flat connected with150x100x3 mm size gusset plate at four corners and one gusset plate of 150x150x3 mm size at Centre. Minimum 3 no M S hinges shall be provided with each Door frame shall be welded with 50x25x1.5 mm side frame of walls. The door panel shall be inward opening type with single leaf closing panel. The M S sheet doors shall be painted with two or more coat of approved synthetic enamel paint over one coat of steel primer.
9.0Surface treatment and painting: The base structure, vertical columns shall be painted with approved 2 or more coats of synthetic enamel paint over one coat of steel primer.
10.0Ventilators: 04 nos. of aluminium louvers (70 mm wide and 1 mm thick Al. Sheet) shall be provided in toilet walls (02 nos of 600 x450 mm size and 02 nos of 450 x 300 mm size)
11.0Water Supply: - Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) pipes, having thermal stability for hot & cold water supply, including all CPVC plain & brass threaded fittings, including fixing the pipe with clamps at 1.00 m spacing. This includes jointing of pipes & fittings with one step CPVC solvent cement and testing of joints complete as per direction of Engineer in Charge. Internal work - Exposed on wall with 15 mm nominal outer dia Pipes and PTMT bib cock of approved quality and colour with 15mm nominal bore including PTMT stop cock of approved quality and colour with 15 mm nominal bore, 86 mm long, weighing not less than 88 gms as per drawings.

13.0Leach Pit: - One no leach pit to be provided (for One toilet block) of 1400mm dia., 1200
mm below ground and 200 mm above ground (total1400mm high) by placing 1400mm dia. NP-2 RCC collars(Loose) with 50mm thick precast RCC cover, including excavation to the required size and profile, including centering, shuttering, reinforcement and hook for lifting arrangement and making hole for connection etc. complete with 1:2:4 (1 cement: 2 coarse sand: 4 graded stone aggregate 12.5 mm nominal size for precast cover) complete as per drawing and Instructions of Engineer- in -charge. Leach pit shall be connected with 110 dia P- trap (Connected to WC) with 2 no 110 mm dia uPVC Pipe conforming to IS: 13592 (Type-B).
14.0Incinerator:- Incinerator box of size 450x300x450 mm shall be made of 0.8 mm thick M S sheet supported by MS angle frame of size 25x25x3 mm as per drawing and connected to WC wall with 2 nos 110 mm dia PVC bend for Girls Toilet including top hung MS sheet door, hinges, handles and locking arrangement etc. fixing in position and applying one priming coat of approved steel primer and two or more coats of approved synthetic enamel paint all over complete as per drawings, specifications and instructions of Engineer - In - Charge.
15.0Logo: - NTPC Logo and Swach Bharat Abhiyan logo shall be engraved or painted with approved Black Japan/Blue paint of as per standard design and drawing.
16.0Field Quality Plan: - Tentative Field Quality plan for the package is enclosed which shall be finalized by NTPC before placing the order in consultation with the vendor.
The Vendor shall submit the list of makes of all the bought out items to be used at the work and get it approve from the Engineer-in-charge before use of the work.
