5.0Brief Scope of Work & other specific detail

1.The metallic bellows shall be made out of M.S. sheets of 1.5/2.5/3.15 mm. |

2.The metallic bellows shall |
be of one fold /two fold /three folds. Payment for two and three fold bellows |

||||
3.Bring steel from store as per requirement. |
|
||||
4.Fabricate |
required |
jigs |

fixtures without any additional cost by using steels from reusable scrap / |
fresh steel. |
Workshop facilities shall be provided for manufacturing Jigs & Fixtures as per requirement subject to availability. |

5.Take the measurement of expansion bellow to be fabricated. |

6.Draw the |

measurement/ drawings supplied/instruction of |

7.Fabrication of the expansion bellows as per drawing /sketch /instruction of
brazed to angles. All the inputs |

will be in contractor scope. If required, sample may |
be fitted, |

is available. Necessary rectifications shall be done by the party without any additional cost. |

8.Fix the protection plate made of 5 / 6 mm M.S. plate. |

9.Store the bellows |
at a suitable |

decided by the Area Engineer after painting with Red Oxide. Red oxide will |

be supplied to the contractor by NTPC free of cost. |

10.Measurement of Bellows shall be taken after fabrication over the protection plate. |
|
|
|

11.The bellows has to be fabricated in pieces and kept separately duly marked for assembly at site as required. |

5.Edge preparation of the ducts before placement of the new expansion joints.
6.Shifting of old expansion joints & other scrap at scrap yard.
7.Erection of new expansion Joint to their respective position.
8.Alignment/ matching of new expansion Joint with respective duct.
9. Fitting and welding of expansion joints. In case |

10.Fitting of seal plates (Protection Plate) and their welding as per standard procedures is to be done.
11.Cutting of temporary locking supports after completion of the work.
12.After completion of the erection work, its air tightness will be checked to detect the leakages, if any leakages are observed / found, the same has to be rectified.

6.Hot tightening of the fabric |

7.Aluminum sheet/GI sheet cover to be restored in expansion joints of duct for protection wherever it already exists. 8.Cleaning of work site and disposal of scrap generated at central stores scrap yard.
9.Scaffolding is to be installed by the agency as per the requirement of job.

required, Fabric cloth and bolster is |
to be installed over the damaged metallic expansion joint as per direction of |
EIC. |
For fabric and bolster fitting purpose, |
angle or channel are to be fabricated, drilled and welded at top and bottom |
of the existing metallic expansion joint. Bends and fabric holding strip are also to be fabricated and drilled with the channel/angle/plates of required dimension.
11.Facility for bolt hole drilling for the flanges & strips shall be provided in NTPC central work shop (CWS) subject to availability of machine free of cost. Handling of materials from site to CWS and vice versa shall be the responsibility of agency.
12.Angle/Channel and plate for fabrication will be provided by NTPC.
13.Unit of measurement: Running Mtr. (M) for Bolster and fabric replacement.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS |

work shall be allowed to the agency. However, under exceptional circumstances like sudden forced outage of the |
unit, breakdown of power transmission system causing low grid demand or any |
other reason |

deemed necessary |

NTPC, a mobilization period of only 48 hours shall |
be given to the agency. |
|
|
|
|
The agency shall utilize the mobilization period for |
making adequate preparation |
for satisfactory execution of the work |
|||
like shifting of materials, T&P, jig & fixture to the work site, fabrication and |
sub assembly |
of |
items/components |
for |
|
smooth completion of the entire work. |
|
|
|
|
|
3. Schedule period of completion of work: - The date of start of work shall be as per instruction of EIC and completion period shall be 20 days (approx) for each unit.
4. All the resources (T&P and man power) required for execution of |
work to be deployed by the agency in given |
time. |
The work shall be carried out round the clock including Sunday and |
holiday during period of overhaul. Agency |
shall |
necessarily take all measures in addition to those to ensure satisfactory completion of work with in schedule period of completion of work as given vide clause no # 3
5. Collections and return of materials required for execution of
material from NTPC as per |
requirement of work. |
The materials shall be collected from NTPC central store or field or |
site store as the case may |
be. The collection & |
transportation of all required materials (spares, consumables, steel, jigs |
and fixtures etc to work place is under agency scope. After completion of work, agency shall return all unused / partially
used / scrap materials to NTPC central store / site store / field store/ |
Scrap yard with in 24 hrs. On completion of work |
|
the agency shall return the T&P issued by NTPC in good working |
condition and |
take receipt of materials returned to |
NTPC. Any damage caused to the T&P shall be rectified / made |
good by the |
agency including the cost of spares |
required for repair. |
|
|
6.Erection of winch machine/ hoist has to be carried out by the contractor.
7.Commissioning / Trial operation / Full load
the |
area |
of work round the clock during trial / full load operation |
of the equipment to attend any defect arising in |
the |
||
area |
of |
work. |
|
|
|
|
8. Guarantee for workmanship / Defect liability |
has to take guarantee of the work executed for a |

period of 90 days from the date of unit synchronization against any |
defect/ abnormality arising out of poor workmanship. |

If any defect is noticed during the defect liability period and |
the job requires shut down the same will be |
|||||
rectified/attended by the contractor during the first subsequent opportunity. |
|
|
|
|||
9. Recovery for unsafe working |
is |
violating any safety norms or any |
of |
|||
his working practice is detrimental to the safety of men or machine, |
a recovery |
of |
Rs.1000/- is liable to be imposed |
for |
||
each such occasion. |
|
|
|
|
||
10.Material Scope
10.1 NTPC Scope
The following input shall be provided by NTPC free of cost.
10.1.1Power supply of all electrical accessories.
10.1.2All materials for scaffolding except coir rope and binding rope.
10.1.3All sealing materials (holtite, shellac, hylomer etc).
10.1.4All type of steel / pipe / structure / plate etc.
10.1.5Special purpose welding electrode as per discretion of EIC.
10.1.6Available workshop facility as per requirement of the job as decided by the engineer-
10.1.7 Hydra /fork lifter, winch machine, |
Hoist facility shall be provided for execution of the work as per availability |
with NTPC. In case of |
such items contractor has to make his own arrangement for execution of the |
work without any extra cost. |
|
10.1.9Lubricating oils, grease, rust releasing agent, anti seize, paint & primer etc.
10.2 Agency Scope
The contractor shall provide the following input at no extra cost for successful completion of work.
10.2.1Coir rope and binding rope for scaffolding.
10.2.2Welding machine, Fibre body grinding machine and other general portable tools. Welding machine ,Fibre body grinding machine and other accessories shall be got inspected and certified fit for use by NTPC before start of work.
10.2.3Gas cutting set with accessories and heating torch.

10.2.12 Further in case during the progress of |

11. Scrap to be removed from the work site on daily basis. All debris and scrap must be removed before unit synchronization, failing which NTPC will arrange to remove the same on the risk and cost of contractors and a deduction of double the expenditure incurred will be done from the contractors bill on sole discretion of E.I.C.
12. Measurement of work executed shall be duly got verified by supervisor/ engineer specifically authorized by the
NTPC.
13.All other terms will be as per G.C.C.
14.Overall value of the contract may vary to (+

assigning any reason whatsoever and in such case no bidder/intending bidder shall have |
any claim arising out of such |
