Invitation of Expression of Interest for lifting of Dry Fly Ash from Ash Silos of NTPC – Ramagundam.

NTPC - Ramagundam is a coal based Super Thermal Power Station in Karimnagar District of Telangana State. It is located on the Chennai/ Hyderabad – New Delhi main railway line and is well connected to major parts of the state as well as other states through Ramagundam – Hyderabad Rajiv Rahadari. The station with an installed capacity of 2600 MW (3x200 MW + 4x 500MW) is certified for ISO-9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS18001. About 130 Lac Metric Tonnes per Annum (LMTY) of coal is fired for power generation and in the process 40 LMTY fly ash is generated from ESP as by product.
NTPC - Ramagundam invites “Expression Of Interest (EOI)” from interested parties /agencies for lifting of dry fly Ash from its ash silos in an environment friendly manner. Already about 15 LMTY dry fly ash is taken by various Cement, RMC, Fly Ash brick and Block industries from the plant. About 17 LMTY dry fly ashes is still available for issue on ‘available basis’ to cement, RMC, fly ash brick, block and other ash based product industries. The ash is available to Cement, RMC, other ash based products and agencies supplying ash to the industries on chargeable basis (rate of ash as on date is Rs. 75/ per Ton) and to fly ash brick and block manufacturers on free of cost.
Our fly ash is of superior quality meeting requirement of IS: 3812:2003 (Part I). Analysis report of fly ash from silo is given below.

Following facilities are available in NTPC - Ramagundam for dry fly ash.
1.Dry fly ash extraction system (DAES) is available in 2 number of 200MW units and 4 number of 500MW units.
2.Dry ash loading facility into bulkers/ trucks by road is available in unit 2 and 3 (200 MW units) with 3 number of silos with total capacity 600MT and unit 6 and 7 (500MW units) with 3 number of silos with total capacity of 1500 MT .
3.Dry ash rail cum road loading facility into rail wagons/ bulkers/ trucks available in unit 4 and 5 (500 MW units) with 2 number of silos with total capacity 3000 MT.
4.Tanker washing facility is available for washing the ash tankers before leaving the plant premises to avoid dust nuisance on road. No tanker is allowed to leave the premises without washing.
5.60T and 100T pit less weigh bridges available no ash vehicle is allowed to leave premises without weighment.
6.Parking facility outside the plant premises.
Interested parties are requested to see the terms and conditions of the EOI and submit their EOI for lifting of dry fly ash from the ash silos in environment friendly and safe manner acceptable to NTPC. The details may be submitted in sealed envelopes in the enclosed format. It may be noted that submission of EOI does not in any way constitute any kind of commitment on the part of NTPC Ltd.

Terms and Conditions
01.The scope of EOI includes lifting of Dry Fly Ash from Plant Silos of NTPC-Ramagundam.
02.Dry fly ash from NTPC Ramagundam silos is provided on ‘As is where is basis’.
03.The interested parties should be manufactures of fly ash based products like cement, ready mix cement(RMC),Asbestos, fly ash bricks ,blocks, tiles etc or any agency interested for supply of fly ash to manufacturing units.
04.The Interested party/agency shall make their own arrangement for transportation of Dry Fly Ash from plant silos of NTPC -Ramagundam and for movement of men, machinery, other equipment etc. required for lifting the dry fly ash from plant silos.
05.The issue of fly ash from plant silos will be free of cost for manufacturing of bricks/blocks, and for cement&RMC etc is on chargable basis.
06.Interested party/agency shall ensure proper care and constant vigil of ash transportation activities and shall not cause any damages to any existing properties, which may result in Environmental hazards in the nearby area.
07.Interested party/agency shall have to abide by the guidelines of the Central Government/State Government regarding fly ash utilization issued from time to time. The agency shall ensure compliance of Ministry of Environment and Forests Notification dtd. 14.09.1999 (as amended till date).
08.NTPC reserves the right to access the capability of the applicant and viability of proposal, based on verification of documents and if required, cross verification of Utilization of Dry Fly Ash at their Unit, for enlistment of the capable applicant(s).
09.All possible measures would have to be taken by the agency to avoid pollution to the satisfactory of the plant officials.Similarly,while transporting, no spillage of fly ash would be permitted to avoid air pollution. If the process adopted by the agency is found defecit, NTPC-ramagundam shall have right to stop the issue of fly ash.
